skaters are flakes here's some fashion (j/k)

So I haven't had a chance to update lately cause of my inability to get out and get some skate shots. Buuuuut a couple weeks ago I had a chance to shoot a project for the publishing department in school here. It was a fun shoot that was a very basic setup but the model was great and the images really turned out well. We set up some black cards with silk organza in front of the model and cross lit the background to blow it out (make it as white as possible). The lighting in front was a single strip softbox. Also I set the color balance for tungsten for a certain look the we were looking for. Let me know what you all think.........

Back to life...Back to reality

Haven't shot a lot of skate lately but I have shot some promotional work for a local jazz musician and I'm really excited about it. This is Adam Thomas and a few raw images of his album that I shot, as well as a photo used for promotional work. We worked together on both the layout and the direction of this album. It was a very fun process and can't wait to work with him again. He plays all over Vancouver and I would encourage all of you to look him up and see where he plays next (http://www.myspace.com/adamrobertthomas) .
Go get this album

Olympics?

So the olympics are here, i've been out and about sniping a few shots. Its preety crazy out there, fun...but crazy. Yesterday I got a call from hippie rob and we met down at hastings for a little roll around. Not much was happening but it was good to get out and skate. Here's a shot of Nate lacoste just messing around with a tuck knee. I was just sitting and taking a few shots while chilling with the guys.

watch your back

So school is in full swing and this term i am determined to slow down and learn more (if that makes sense). Here's my next week assignment for my portraiture class where I shot bare bulb through the blinds that i had up on a c stand. I had a bit of a bounce camera right but other than that its one light and a little bit of post courtesy of luna nuhic and silver effects pro (best best best plug in for getting film like grain on your digi images). enjoy

Here you go josh

We went out the other day (yes the same day as the last post) and shredded some of the new obstacles at lee-side. We tried hastings and a few street spots but for some reason vancouver didn't want dry up. When we went down in to the depths i got to meet and watch jamie maley (sp?) kill it in there. Here's the photo you were asking about josh. Just after this we got to eat at bk lounge (whopper wednesday!!!). Anyways thanks for taking this photo with me josh, lets go hit that flat out soon, oh yah and derek you still owe me an over crooks!
